Flaneur – A Tale of Two Cities

In spirit of this week’s Discover Challenge, it is my pleasure to share with you all a juxtaposition of two cities: Shanghai (China), my hometown by birth; and Sydney (Australia), my hometown by choice.

Juxtaposition of Shanghais’s old and new in all its glory (Shanghai’s traditional “slum” housing in the foreground with the prestigious Westin “crown” hotel in the background)
Shanghai Pudong Lujiazui Central Business District, as viewed from Level 100 of the Shanghai World Financial Center (上海环球金融中心)

The idyllic Royal Botanic Gardens on a Friday afternoon (Chifley Tower is seen as the skyscraper on the far left)
Sydney’s iconic harbour earning it the title of the “Emerald City”, as viewed from my office at Level 40 of Chifley Tower
